I will bill singing stories and telling songs!
Bill Poss is a songwriter and performer from Effingham, IL who toured North America for two decades - first solo, then with the Ginn Sisters and Fred Eaglesmith. Since moving home to Effingham, IL in 2014, he founded the Moccasin Creek Festival and Poss Music Works NFP. He continues to write songs and book gigs for himself, his duo with his wife JJ LoveSeat and his bluegrass band The High Test String Band. He brings all these acts together in Bill Poss and the Useful Tools, A Variety Show. He also teaches songs to kids, and performs to a wide variety of audiences from children to retirees.
Comfortable standing my himself telling stories and performing a riveting folk set, or rocking out with his five piece band, Bill Poss cuts a wide path, shifting easily from folk and bluegrass to country and rock. His years on the road have provided him with great fodder for his songs and his stories. The Useful Tools are whoever he is playing with at the time, including full bands ready to play in Effingham, IL, Lawrence, KS, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA and Hamilton, ON
Bill Poss has 5 CDs and a book, the Bill Poss Travelogue, to his name. His most recent CD was "Saltwater", recorded in Lawrence, KS and released in Dec. 2014. Poss' first three CDs, recorded in Austin from 1999-2003 under his full given name, Bill Passalacqua, have just been rereleased as a 2 CD set. Both are available now in the 'Store'.

I'll be splitting this show with Ernie Hendrickson, who I recently discovered opening for Robert Earl Keen at the Castle Theater in Bloomington. I loved his music and we struck up a conversation and that led to this collaboration.
Cool combo here, great rock and country band Hello Dave with special guest Matt Poss!
